Fun Mid-Mountain Adventure | Our Waterfall Explorer tour is a great ATV/SXS adventure. Your guide will lead you up the mountain and get you off the beaten path to spend time at scenic Marmot Falls. You will experience breathtaking mountain views along the way.
This tour is a perfect interlude to your vacation and is suitable for all family members. Even though it’s only a 2-hour trip, you will feel like you have left the busy towns and highways behind and truly experienced the peace and beauty of our mountains. Avoid the crowds, and let us show you our backyard.
What to Expect: When you arrive for your tour, you will receive all the gear you need, a comprehensive safety briefing, and instructions on how to ride your ATV or SXS safely. After some practice time at our base area, your guide will lead you up the mountain for spectacular views of Panorama Mountain Resort and the surrounding peaks of the Toby Creek Valley. There are many opportunities to see wildlife, stop, and take in the mountain experience along the trail.
Marmot Falls: At the mid-point of the tour, you will park your ATV and follow your guide along a short pathway to the base of the Marmot Falls, where you can watch a clear, pure, snow-fed mountain stream sparkle and cascade over 100′ down a vertical rock face. You can get so close you can feel the mist on your face and listen to the water hitting the rocks at the base of the falls. You can even try gold-panning in one of the pools beside the viewpoint.
Constantly Changing: In winter, Marmot Falls is entirely frozen. It casts off the ice pillar by June and rushes over the rock face and through the snowbanks still present on the forest floor. On hot days in July, it thunders – fed by melting snow. Come August and September, it reduces to a beautiful and sparkling bridal-veil waterfall. In early October, the first thin ice starts to reform on the edges, sometimes framed by the spectacle of an early snowfall on cold nights. It’s never the same from one day to the next.
Please note: This tour does not reach the Alpine Cabin or Paradise Basin. If you want to visit Paradise Cabin and Marmot Falls, please join our Paradise Basin or Paradise Mine tours.
