An Incredible Season Of Colour In The Canadian Rockies
One of the most spectacular natural sights in the Canadian Rockies is the turning of the Alpine Larches, from their summer green to their stunning golden hue.
The breathtaking transformation occurs every fall as the Alpine Larches prepare to lose their needles for winter. Typically, the golden larches are most vibrant from mid to late September. At the same time, deciduous trees like the Trembling Aspen are also turning to their fall colours. It’s a sight to behold and one that brings multitudes of visitors to the Canadian Rockies every year!
At Toby Creek Adventures, we love Larch Season! We are fortunate to have an abundant larch forest within our alpine property and love sharing it with our guests. Travelling through the vibrant golden larch forest by ATV or Side-by-Side (SXS) is an incredible way to experience the spectacular phenomena.
Larches in Paradise Tour | After a breathtaking scenic ride up the mountain from our base in Toby Creek, we experience a unique larch adventure as we travel through the golden forest via our alpine ATV & SXS trail network. During the tour, we also visit the site of the historic Paradise Minelocated at our recently renovated alpine cabin. Here, we enjoy a mid-ride snack and take in the larch forest views from our beautiful deck.
Avoid the larch season crowds and let us show you our backyard! The experience is accessible to many – from younger children over the age of 5 to those not able to hike.
If needed, we have rain gear; we also have plenty of hot chocolate and a cozy fireplace at the Paradise Cabin.
Our Can-Am SXS is the perfect option for couples and families. Available as an upgrade option on all our tours.
This natural spectacle only lasts for a few weeks each Fall season in September!
