Experience the emergence of spring on the lower slopes and benches of the Purcell Mountains, visit a thundering waterfall in full snow-melt flood and take in an incredible panoramic view of the Columbia Valley, the Canadian Rockies and the Purcell Mountains still cloaked in winter snow.

On this early season ATV tour we explore the Purcell Mountains lower slopes and bench-lands through May only as we wait for the snow to melt off higher up at Paradise.  Even though the high peaks and alpine slopes remain snow-covered, lower down spring is bringing the forest back to life, rivers are flowing large and the mild spring temperatures are perfect for an outdoor ATV adventure.

The new green foliage and snow-free forest provides an excellent opportunity to view various species of wildlife as they emerge from winter and before they disperse deeper into the mountains and higher elevations.  We will take you to unique viewpoints to watch the wild Horsethief River as it carves it’s way through ancient glacial till and past hoo-doo pillars to join the mighty Columbia River.
