Take a guided ATV day-trip into pristine wilderness, deep in the heart of the Purcell Mountains.

20151009-IMG_9346

You will explore deep into the mountains beside a cascading glacier-fed river riding through old-growth forests, and beside huge rock walls. View tumbling waterfalls and soaring peaks on the way to a sparkling alpine lake and the spectacular overhanging Sultana Glacier.

20151009-IMG_9293Our Sultana Glacier Safari is just getting started where our Paradise Ridge full-day tour turns back.  From Paradise Ridge we will descend into the Bruce Valley. At the valley floor we explore the remains of pioneer log buildings and walk beside a large beaver pond.  Then we head upstream through deep forest, rich meadows and avalanche fans.  We will travel  below the soaring rock flanks of Mt. Nelson and Mt. Slade deep into the Purcell Mountains.

This is a true wilderness experience abounding with scenic viewpoints and photography moments, and surrounded by wildlife viewing opportunities. This valley is home to Grizzly and Black bears, white-tail and mule deer, beaver, moose, and ravens. It is also rich with many species of vibrant and colourful wild flowers.  In the fall the golden larch trees make for a magnificent sight.

20151009-IMG_9331Our destination is a rock-bound alpine lake where we will enjoy lunch and take some time to explore along the shore and gaze at the overhanging glacial ice on the north flank of Sultana Peak.

ATV Experience Level: This trip is perfect for intermediate to advanced ATV riders and other guests who feel confidant in their ability to handle moderately technical riding.  For the most part we are traveling on a well-formed back-country trail however there are some boulder field crossings that require confidence in your ability and control of the machine.  Your guide will always be present to assist and advise you.

ATV Equipment:  You will be riding either an Arctic Cat 500/550cc machine or a CanAm 500cc machine.  One ATV machine per person. (Please note: Side-by-side machines are temporarily not available for this tour subject to pending trail repairs and upgrades).
